X.1 No fabricated evidence Active
Every quotation or cited evidence in the artifact must exist verbatim in the supplied input. Checked by program; any violation is a one-shot veto.
Evidence: frozen. A frozen benchmark version tests this capability. No site-verified result exists yet.

Definition in detail
A quotation that does not exist in the source lends false authority to a finding. In medical review this is worse than giving no evidence at all.
Inputs a task gives
- The supplied input files of any task whose artifact carries quotations or cited evidence
- The evidence fields of the task artifact
Artifact required
No separate artifact. The constraint applies to every evidence or quotation field in the task artifact, together with its source location.
How it is graded
A program matches each evidence string against the supplied inputs as an exact substring (whitespace normalisation, where a task family uses it, is stated in its task contract). Any evidence string that is not found is a one-shot veto: the item fails regardless of its other checkpoints.
In scope
- Every quotation and evidence field in every artifact
- Evidence attributed to supplied sources
Out of scope
- Whether the quoted evidence supports the finding - graded under the task's own capability, for example A.6
- Logging information that is absent - graded under X.5
Typical failures
Expected failure patterns; not measured rates.
- Joining two non-adjacent fragments into one quotation
- Correcting spelling or units inside a quotation
- Quoting a source from memory that was not supplied
